User Experience Designer
Role description and responsibilities

Systemscope is searching for a User Experience Designer to lead the visual development and prototyping experience components of our public sector projects.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Rapid prototyping of interfaces
• Creating interfaces that are usable and useful on any screen size
• Working with content architects to bring content to life for end users
• Conducting user research and usability testing
• Exploring and experimenting with emerging design patterns for Government web applications
• Understanding real business needs and how to best address them – from the user’s perspective
• Working on multidisciplinary teams to gather and prioritize requirements and render them into user-oriented designs
About you
Must have
You have:
• Experience creating user-oriented designs that meet client goals and objectives
• Experience working quickly with iterative designs
• Experience capturing client requirements and feedback to enhance existing designs
• Worked with a variety of prototyping tools (e.g. balsamiq, JustInMind, UXPin, Axure, etc.)
• Demonstrated strong, creative problem-solving and storytelling skills
• The ability to articulate and defend design choices with tact and charm
• The ability to transform your knowledge and curiosity into pragmatic solutions
• The ability to accept and incorporate feedback
• The ability to manage your time properly (working on several fast-moving projects and delivering quality work on or ahead of time)
Nice to have
It would be nice if you also had:
• Canadian federal government or other public sector experience
• Experience using the results of usability tests to improve designs
• Proficiency in both official languages
